This is a family favorite. Every Holiday season our Aunt Jenny who lived in Omaha, Nebraska and having Great Grandchildren living in San Jose, California would trek to San Jose and stop through, wherever we lived at the time. These were the years following the death of her husband Mike.
Jenny and Mike lived in San Bernardino, California, they were one of the first residents to move into a new housing community in 1967-68. The community was on the south-west corner of Highland and Arden Avenues. Some time after Mike's death she bought a house in Hesperia, California. Every year she would start out a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. We always got new knitted slippers, her wonderful rice cakes and these cookies. My son Mark's favorite.- Donna Schumacher
